Latin American Ambassadors and Heads of Mission
ALABC engages on a regular basis with the Latin American Ambassadors, to discuss the latest developments in the region, the opportunities and challenges our members face in the regions and share ideas regarding joint initiatives, to facilitate business engagement and access to key insights and networks. On this occasion, ALABC would like to provide a warm welcome to the newly appointed Ambassadors of Peru H.E Mr. Vitaliano Gallardo Valencia.

H.E. Mr. Vitaliano Gallardo Ambassador of Peru Ambassador Gallardo is a Career Diplomat and a Bachelor of Law Graduate from the Catholic University of Peru and a Graduate from the Program in Global Affairs, School of Continuous and Professional Studies, New York.
He has Advanced Studies Course in Public Administration and Management, Diplomatic Academy of Peru and Diploma of Specialised Higher Studies International Administration, University Paris.

LATAM restarts flights from Australia and New Zealand to South America
After almost two years of pausing its passenger services from Australia and New Zealand due to the COVID-19 pandemic, LATAM has announced it will resume its passenger operations between Sydney, Auckland and Santiago from 29 March.

The pandemic has accelerated Latin America’s startup boom
When three young entrepreneurs decided to start an online marketplace in Argentina in 1999, their chances seemed slim. Only a select few had access to the internet and money was scarce. “There were no local venture-capital firms, and international ones wouldn’t even look at Latin America,” says Marcos Galperin, one of the founders. In 2001 the trio met an investor in Silicon Valley who looked at their sales and asked if the figures were in “millions or billions”. They were in thousands.

KADELCO signs MOU to produce hydrogen in Costa Rica ALABC member KADELCO signs memorandum of understanding with the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE). KADELCO is interested in electricity supply to produce green hydrogen in Costa Rica.
Kadelco is an international corporation, headquartered in Australia. It is dedicated to the development of innovative industrial solutions and the construction of large infrastructure projects. Faye Duncan, CEO of Kadelco , told government authorities of the company's interest in building a green hydrogen plant in the country through a substantial investment. It is estimated that the US$ 3,3 billion investment will generated 2,600 new jobs in Costa Rica.

Boric: Chile will prioritise Pacific Alliance under my government
Chile’s President-elect Gabriel Boric has said that his new government will focus its foreign policy on improving ties with members of the Pacific Alliance (Alianza del Pacífico) trade bloc. Boric, who was elected earlier this month in a run-off vote, said relations with member states Colombia, Mexico and Peru would be prioritised.

Chile to attract US$1 billion in Green Hydrogen investments
Foreign investment has been key to developing green hydrogen in Chile. Initiatives promoted by Enel Green Power, Linde, ENGIE, Air Liquide, GNL Quintero and CAP have been chosen for co-financing support by Chile’s Economic Development Agency, CORFO, with the goal of speeding up the development of the industry in our country.

Brazil sees private infrastructure capex nearly doubling in 2022
Brazil's government sees private investments of 78 billion reais ($15 billion) in infrastructure this year, up 95% from 2021, the economy ministry forecast, supporting its expectations that economic growth will beat meager market forecasts.
The estimate covers investments agreed to under public-private partnerships, which totaled about 40 billion reais last year, according to the ministry's Secretariat of Economic Policy (SPE).
