For the past 10 years, the ALABC Networking Day at Parliament House in Canberra has been an important opportunity for government and businesses to come together and share insights around Australia’s commitment to strengthening ties with countries in the Latin American region, creating opportunities for trade, investment, tourism, and education.

This year will bring together Ministers, Latin American Heads of Mission, Directors of ALABC, senior representatives of key allies (Government Departments, DFAT-COALAR, Austrade, Investment NSW, Global Victoria, Trade and Investment Queensland) and our Patron members including companies and organisations such as BHP, CSIRO, ENAEX, LATAM Airlines, Lithium Power International, MMG, Newcrest Mining, CR Mining, PwC and University of Melbourne.

Over the last two years, ALABC has focused on events and activities that provide increasing opportunities for our members to engage deeply with industry, government and academic experts based in the region. This addresses our members’ interests in better understanding and navigating a challenging external environment.

As businesses continue to seek out opportunities to engage economically, stewardship by government is needed to help them calibrate risk and develop sustainable paths forward. Our Networking Day will provide a favourable environment for these important conversations to take place.

We will continue to encourage Ministers to engage with businesses in the region, share their perspectives, and work in partnership to develop policies and approaches to advance the Australia - Latin America relationship.
