Skies Wide Open - Latin Finance
Despite the turbulence in the global economy, Latin America is entering 2024 in good shape. Inflation and interest rates are falling, economic growth has been steady, and investors are again looking on the region favourably. This follows a positive 2023 when the region largely outperformed market estimates. Helped by a bumper harvest in Brazil and strong infrastructure spending in Mexico, Latin America's economy largely exceeded market estimates.

30 April - Working Lunch on Regional Risk in Latin America
We had the pleasure of collaborating with one of our newest members, Kroll to host our first event in our series on risk - a working lunch on regional risks and mitigation strategies in Latin America.
With 110 points of armed conflict, 90 federal elections taking place worldwide this year and governments grappling to cope with climate challenges, it's salient to reflect on how we look at risk and act to mitigate it as a business community.
Foreign Direct Investment into Latin America and the Caribbean region sits at 224.579B in 2022, a figure comparable to the ASEAN countries at 224B - impressive! The region is also becoming a focal point of interest for energy, renewable energy, critical minerals and lithium, supporting the world's energy transition, as well as being an engine room for manufacturing and a jumping off point for nearshoring.
A special thank you to our speakers and specialists in risk advisory, Erin Tennant, Associate Managing Director and Sergio Revilla, Senior Vice President for their informative and relevant presentations on the topic of regional risk.
